person
Mózes (Moses)
Mózes
also: Moses, Mózes
Moses (Hungarian: Mózes), the central tragic hero: prophet, lawgiver, and liberator of Israel. Madách reimagines the biblical figure as a Romantic idealist whose greatness isolates him from the very people he serves, who sacrifices family and happiness for a mission that costs him his life, and who dies seeing the promised land without entering it.
