Lethe

also: Léthé, river of forgetfulness

In Greek and Roman mythology, one of the five rivers of the underworld (Hades). The dead drink from Lethe to forget their earthly lives before reincarnation. Its name means 'oblivion' or 'concealment' in Greek. Poets contrasted it with the river Mnemosyne (memory).
