Pandora
In Greek myth, Pandora was the first woman, fashioned by Hephaestus at Zeus's command and sent to marry Epimetheus as punishment for Prometheus's theft of fire; she brought with her a jar (pithos) containing all the world's evils. Madách's version uses her specifically as Zeus's erotic instrument against the Titan.

In Greek myth Zeus sent Pandora ('all-gifted') to punish Epimetheus; she brought a jar of evils which she opened, releasing misery into the world. Lorán's poem uses her as the seductive instrument Zeus deploys to neutralise the Titan's rebellion.
