Rákos plain

Rákos

also: Rákosmező, field of Rákos

The Rákos plain (Rákosmező) east of Pest was historically the assembly-ground for Hungarian noble diets and later a military exercise field; the narrator of 'The Adventures' is carried there involuntarily by his runaway horse during a military exercise.
