The biblical prophet and lawgiver who led the Israelites out of Egyptian slavery, received the Ten Commandments on Mount Sinai, and guided his people forty years through the wilderness toward Canaan. He is the central figure of the Torah and is revered in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.
