The hero of Petőfi Sándor's narrative poem János vitéz (1844), a shepherd boy who wins his beloved Iluska and goes on fantastic adventures, ultimately welcomed by Tündér Ilona as king of Fairyland; his mention in the Tündérálom fragment makes Petőfi's poem the primary literary intertext.
