A fictional character in 'Ecce Homo'; she was Count Conti's lover, mother of Spiridion (the Java youth), and the woman who betrayed Conti to the Inquisition. She ends the tale confined to a madhouse, from which she falls to her death after a brief, lucid confession to her son.
