A fictional nobleman in 'Ecce Homo', father of Spiridion (by Countess Gordon) and of Estrella; a man of liberal or unorthodox views who is denounced to the Inquisition by the friar Deodát and burned at the stake, his fate driving the tale's Gothic plot of revenge and madness.
