Abiram

also: Abiram

Abiram, one of the Israelite dissidents, loosely based on the biblical rebel of Numbers 16 (Dathan and Abiram); in the drama he is the voice of short-sighted pragmatism — defending self-interest, denouncing Moses to Pharaoh, and ultimately being swallowed by the earth in Act Four.
