The Burning Bush

also: égő csipkebokor, the theophany at Horeb

The burning thornbush (Exodus 3) in which God appeared to Moses and commanded him to lead Israel out of Egypt; the bush burned without being consumed. In Madách's drama it is staged with thunder and a visible flame.
